So that’s how the testing rounds played out for this, the 27th cycle of Purse Pattern Chronicles and didn’t our FIVE testers do an exceptional job? Many of you know that one of my favorite parts of the pattern development process is the testing round. I just LOVE seeing what our testers are inspired to create, especially since each one of our testers seems to have their own individual style and several have a real flair for the dramatic!
And here’s the deal… our testers perform a great service for us (and in turn for YOU) in the process of making their test bags. I can’t imagine publishing a new pattern without their input, and if you’d like to leave them some love for them in the “Comments” section” below I’m sure they’d appreciate it. And if you have any questions about the testing process in general, or any of these bag samples in particular, you can leave those there as well and I’ll do my best to answer them!
Lori Gates is located in Florida now and has been testing for us since the Fall of 2008 when we introduced the Boho Baguette and that’s before we even started the first cycle of Purse Pattern Chronicles! WOW! Lori’s been out for the past two cycles but I’m SO glad she was back for the Katalina! Besides being a great seamstress, Lori is an excellent grammatician & proof-reader. She generally finds the most things that need correcting in every set of instructions she takes on and I totally appreciate her skillset!Jeanette Jay started testing for us in the Bella BiFold cycle of Purse Pattern Chronicles, so this is the second cycle that she’s tested with us. I love the bright colors she chose for her Katalina! It’s a real eye-catcher! Beth Revere hails from Council Grove, Kansas and started testing for us WAY BACK in the 8th cycle of Purse Pattern Chronicles in 2014 with the Wrapsody design. I really love with her rendition of our Katalina because it has a happy carefree look. I especially appreciate Beth complete dedication to finding every little thing that might be mis-labeled, mis-numbered, mis-spelled or otherwise mis-leading! This is SUCH a gift to me and I sure do appreciate her! Thanks Beth! And finally, Shannon Maciejewski of Almont, MI joined our testing team in the 9th cycle of Purse Pattern Chronicles with the Wrapsody design. I always look forward to the unique exteriors Shannon chooses for her bags. This is a classy example of Shannon’s work and I love how our black w/silver zipper looks with with this fabric!
And now, it’s YOUR turn!
Might you have questions about any of these test bags or about the testing process? Several of our testers stay up-to-date on our Blog posts, so you never know, maybe one of them will answer your question directly! 🙂 And remember, we love reading your comments and answering your questions too, so please feel free to leave either or both in the space provided below.

I loved seeing these samples. So nice to see this pattern when viewed from another angle. I had wondered if that top zipper had to look so pronounced. Several of the samples show a more relaxed looking zipper, which I was so glad to see. Such lovely work from these talented ladies. Thank you for posting these lovely photos.

I like seeing how the different fabrics make every one unique. I always choose my favorite fabric. In this case it was the black and white. I’m looking forward to the day we can order.

Shannon’s gray with polka dots and lilac trim was my favorite. My colors.
Like Nancy’s multi colored zigzag and stripes but would have kept the black & white inside bag.
