Quilt Festival 2019- the Quilts

And now

it’s time for my favorite post from International Quilt Market & Festival because now I get to show you the quilts that are MY personal favorites from the 2019 exhibition! But first I want to emphasize that I am no expert on quilting. As a matter of fact, I’m really not even a quilter myself having only taken two to full completion, so I’m far from qualified to be a judge!  But here’s the thing… I AM a fan and a longtime admirer of excellent quilting and I know what I like, so what you’ll see below simply represents MY personal taste so I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did!  🙂

“Blau de Colors- El Tubo”
Winner of the Gammill Master Award $5000
Montserrat For Cadell Blasco – Catalunya, Spain
“Midnight Frolic”
winner of the Robert S Cohan Master Award for Traditional Artistry – $5000
Molly Hamilton-McNally – Tehachapi, CA
“Naturalist’s Notebook”
winner of the Founder’s Award – $7500
Sandra Leichner – Albany, OR
“Divine Radiation”
Jane Sassaman – Harvard, IL
Champagne Carnival”
Day Haaland & Becky Haaland – Scott, LA
And here’s MY personal favorite from the WHOLE show!
“New Dawn”
Caryl Bryer-Fallert-Gentry – Port Townsend, WA

Aren’t they WONDERFUL?

And now…. it’s YOUR turn!

I’d love to know what you think of the quilts I chose to include here? Which of these quilts was YOUR favorite?  And remember, we love reading your comments and answering your questions too, so please feel free to leave either or both in the space provided below.

That ‘Blau de Colors’ is amazing! In the photo, it looks so three dimensional and like a light is shining from it. Does it give that strong an impression when you see it for real or does the two dimensional photo enhance that?

I agree. The effect was even more dramatic in person! I loved it! 🙂

Caryl Bryer-Fallert-Gentry always has something wonderful and spectacular. I so love her work. Quilt shows are a delight to the eye and a place of inspiration. Thank you for sharing.
