So…
today I’m pleased to be able to show you the Easy Go Wallet in batiks… and not just ANY batiks! A few months ago Kate Colleran (of Kate Colleran Designs), a friend of mine from Quilt Market contacted me about the possibility of me using her fabric in a sample or two.
At the time I was just finishing up Double Take pattern and hadn’t put much thought into what was coming next for us, but as soon as I settled on this new wallet pattern and realized that a small-scale print was going to purrfect for this design, I gave Kate a holler to take her up on her kind offer.
But “Why”, you might ask, “would a fabric designer
be interested in sending me fabric to use in a sample or two?”
Actually this practice is quite common between fabric designers & pattern designers.
It’s kind of a symbiotic relationship! In other words… Kate’s fabrics. made up in one of my patterns. helps her sell fabric because it demonstrates how her fabric can be used in a way that some customers may not have thought of… and conversely, my pattern design made up in Kate’s fabric exposes my pattern line to Kate’s customer base (and those of many others)… especially if Kate places this sample on display in her booth at the Fall Quilt Market this Fall! 🙂
So… as you may already know, We’ll soon be releasing our brand new Easy Go Wallet pattern (probably in mid-August). It’s a thin profile wallet with slots available for 8 credit cards, a vinyl ID holder, a zippered coin purse, 2 deep slots for storing paper money, foreign currency, or a passport. PLUS- there’s additional room for a check register, a pen and even your choice of a cell phone or a pair of reading glasses.
And here’s the deal… you can leave your heavy handbag at home or in the car and carry your Easy Go Wallet as a clutch bag (with or without the optional wristlet strap). OR>>> you can fasten a shoulder strap to the optional D-rings and enjoy the freedom of going totally handsfree!
And so….
we’re coming to the end of the line for the Easy Go Wallet. As a matter of fact, we only have one more sample to show you before we have to make the all-important choice of which sample will be awarded the coveted position of being the “Cover Model” for this design.
So stay tuned for that!
