PPC31: Purple Paisley… a Remake

So… turns out I’ve had a blast re-imagining some of the samples I made during the runup to the High Seas Convertible pattern release.

As mentioned in a previous post, I’m trying something new for the 2024 Fall International Quilt Market. I’ll be selling some of my samples at the Quilt Market (along with a dozen patterns per sample) with the goal that the store owner will return to her shop w/a beautiful designer-made sample in hand & immediately be in a position to sell patterns and/or schedule classes, without having to make a sample, or to pay someone to make one for her! Which makes this program a WIN-WIN for both the store owner AND for us!

But I digress! The purpose of this exercise is to create a bag that’s similar to the original, yet different by substituting a contrasting fabric from my stash! (Click HERE to see the original post.)

And I have to say, I LOVE getting a chance to show you how one small change can make such a HUGE difference in the overall look & vibe of a bag!

And this bag most CERTAINLY has distinctly different character than the original!

And what I want to know is… Which bag do you like better?
I’ll let YOU decide, but first… a closer look at the two bags… SIDE BY SIDE!

So… in the photos above, the original bag we created in the runup to the High Seas Convertible release is on the right in both of these photographs, (with the purplish/gold metallic contrast), and the remake of this bag is on the left in both photos, (with the swirly light greenish/yellow contrast).

So… Which one do YOU prefer?

I sure would like to know which bag is YOUR favorite, so please, if you feel so inclined, do indicate your preference in the comments below. (Keep in mind, I’m happy with both of these bags, so you won’t hurt my feelings either way!) And DO stay tuned for the next post in this series when we’ll be showing you the remake of our “Wings of Gold” sample!

They are both beautiful bags but the new version really catches my eye. It would be my pick
