So… do you enjoy our last post in this series where we shared a remake of one of our original samples we made in the runup to the High Seas Convertible release?
As mentioned in a previous post, we’ll be trying something new at the 2024 Fall International Quilt Market. I’ll be selling some of my samples at the Quilt Market (along with a dozen patterns per sample) with the goal that the store owner will return to her shop w/a beautiful sample in hand & be immediately in position to sell patterns and/or schedule classes, without having to make a sample, or to pay someone to make one for her! Which makes this program a WIN-WIN for both the store owner AND for us!
And not only that… since samples sell patterns, its likely that the sample this store owner takes home with her will be stimulating pattern reorders for quite some time to come! Click HERE to see the original post.)
But I digress! The purpose of this exercise is to create a bag that’s similar to the original, yet different by substituting a contrast fabric from my stash!
And I have to say, I am REALLY enjoying this exercise! I love demonstrating how a bag can take on a totally different vibe by making a change as small as THIS!
And what I want to know is… Which bag do you like better, I’ll let YOU decide,
but first… a closer look at the two bags… SIDE BY SIDE!
So… in the photos above, the original bag we created in the runup to the High Seas Convertible release is on the left in both photos, (with the dotted contrast), and the remake of this bag is on the right in both photos, (with the solid light blue contrast).
So… Which one do YOU like best?
I sure would like to know which bag is YOUR favorite, so please, if you feel so inclined, do indicate your preference in the comments below. (Keep in mind, I’m happy with both of these bags, so you won’t hurt my feelings either way!) I like the one with the blue contrast. It gives my eyes a place to rest. The left one looks too busy sitting next to the right one. The solid seems to pull out the blues in the fabric. Just my opinion!
