PPC32: Dragonfly Illusion

So…

with this sample, I have to say that I am FINALLY very well pleased with this design., with just one very minor tweak to make (more on this later).

And I have to say… isn’t this fabric simply AMAZING???? I fell in love with it from the moment I first saw it, and I’ll give you more information about at the end of this post.

Here’s two more frontal views that give you a good look at the graceful upper edge of this new bag design, which is mirrored in the upper edge of the Bag Front slip Pocket! This slip pocket is protected by a mag-snapped closure for security.

And here’s a good look at the Bag Back which features a very deep, zippered pocket for securely sequestering valuable items against your body that you still want to have quick access to… like your key fob, or maybe your passport.

And just so you know… for some time now, I’ve been allowing my sweet granddaughter to help me choose which zipper to use alongside each bag exterior and she’s doing a great job in my estimation. And who knows… maybe someday she’ll take over this business from me?

And I’m particularly happy with these two photos and the 3 below, and why is that?!
That’s because I’ve been working on getting this bag opening sufficiently protected by the zipper panels for 4 samples now. None of them have been quite perfect yet, but this one is just one tee-tiny tweek away from perfection! And that’s exciting!

And now, here’s a great shot of this samples interior, where you can clearly see the interior slip pocket on the left (back) side of the bag, as well as how ultra-roomy the inside of this bag is!

So with this sample... I’m just one tweek away from perfection for this design, and this feels SO gratifying given the challenges I’ve faced during the course of this bag’s creation.

I finally feel comfortable sending the tester kits out to our amazing testers, and moving forward with other very important tasks like;

  • pattern cover design
  • final touches on pattern templates
  • webpage design
  • flyer design
  • just to mention a few things, but do stay tuned?

And finally, let’s talk about these totally fabulous fabrics, which are literally some of the most beautiful that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with! They are from the Nature Collection from Timeless Treasures and we now are selling them together in a package which includes 1/2 yard of each. Click HERE to see them on our Fabric Page.

And now…. it’s YOUR turn!

I’d love to know what you think of this design now. Does this bag seem like one you might enjoy carrying? And if you have comments you’d like to share, suggestions you’d like to make, or questions you’d like to ask about this design in general or this sample in specific, please feel free to leave either or both in the space provided below.

Love this one. here is why. I love my pockets on the outside for my phone in easy reach, and that zipper pocket for things I cant lose. A purse is a fine balance for me. I have had 7 spine surgeries, and a shoulder surgery. I simply can not carry a lot of weight. if a bag is too big, I will always over load myself, plus a big bag for a small person is out of proportion. But, if a bag is too small, I cant stuff in extras if I am on the road for the whole day, like a pill case a small brush, diabetic supplies. I want enough “canvas” when I sew a bag to play with fabric design, or fancy stitching etc as well…. this one looks like it will fit all my needs, and should be named the “just right” bag. or perhaps Goldilocks?

Thanks Candice, and that’s a cool name! Thanks for the suggestion. I may just use it!

Well, for sure! The fabric makes the bag! But I’m envisioning other fabrics as well! Even so, I love the Dragonflies!
Now the bag. The size is great! And all those handy pockets, I love. But I’m not really a purse person, prefer hands free shoulder carry. But I can see ways to adapt with the handles. It promises to be a super carry! Super cargo….or along that line!
    Another winner!
