So…
I was sitting in my booth at the AQS Paducah Quilt Festival a few weeks ago when I spied this extraordinary fabric in the booth across the aisle from me!
But here’s the thing… it probably won’t come as a surprise to you that I love collecting fabric! Some might call it hoarding, but I prefer to think of myself as a “fabric curator”! But either way… this fabric really caught my eye!
I tried my best to resist because this fabric just didnt feel like it was in my “wheelhouse”, but no matter what, it just kept calling to me. So on day 3 of the show I finally broke down and bought some. I justified my purchase by telling myself that the scale of this print was purrfect for my new Wallet design.
And judging by the final result (at left), I’m really glad I listened to that voice in my head and took a chance on this unique fabric which I’ll tell you more about at the end of this post!
But for now, let me show you around this new sample!

Even though this is wallet has a thin silhouette, it can still hold more than just your cash and credit cards,
as shown in the photo at left. For this design you might notice that I’ve placed the credits cards “on their ends”
to maximize the number it could hold. In the photo at right you can see that
I’ve added a passport as well as a cell phone (a Samsung S20).

Here’s a good look at the Wallet Front (at left) with a generously sized pocket for notes, tickets, and boarding passes,
among other things. And at right is a photo of the Wallet Back.

And I for one find the option to carry this Wallet as a wristlet very convenient since there’s quite a few venues now that insist on us carrying either wallet-sized handbags or a clear plastic handbag (which I DESPISE!… because there’s no dignity in that!)
So I did make a few minor changes to the design for this incarnation. They’re as follows:
- I located both of the optional D-rings for the shoulder strap to the back side of the Wallet top edge and
- I lowered the top edge of the CC Slot units by another 1/4″.
- I increased the width of the Coin Purse by 1/4″and
- I’m going to recommend the usage of a double pull zipper that’s closed on both ends.
And now, a few words about this unique fabric!
It was designed by Peter Parling for Stof Fabrics (a Danish fabric house) and approved for our usage by, and under the supervision of Pippin (aka “Your Almost Daily Purrr”), at right.
And here’s some other important info-
- Wallet size= 7 3/4″ wide X 5″ tall X 1″
- projected release date= August 2023

And now, it’s YOUR turn!
