PPC21: A Snake Charmer

So…

After making all those pre-release Side Slinger samples, I decided to do something I rarely ever do! I decided that I really “needed” to make a Side Slinger for myself and since I still had one unused piece of faux leather left I knew the time to do this was now… before I packed this design away and started working on something new!

So you might be wondering… After having a rough time working with the grey gator faux leather, and an easy schmeasy time working with the black weathered faux leather… how did THIS particular piece of faux leather stack up in comparison?
And the answer is… I guess I’d have to rate it somewhere in between the two. I definitely wasn’t as tough to work with as the grey faux gator, but it sure wasn’t as easy as the weathered black either.
And for my parting shot, here’s a look at the full height and width zippered pocket located on the Bag Back.

And now…. it’s YOUR turn!

It seems appropriate to me that you make one of your bags just for you to enjoy! I’m surprised that you don’t do it more often, but maybe carrying the gorilla samples is sufficient since you usually make two bag patterns per year. I can see you carrying your elegant Side Slinger on one of your fabulous vacations one day when things settle down in the world.

    Hi Kat,
I just finished my Side Slinger and I love it! I only had two spots where I struggled a little. My Inner pocket 2 extented about 1/2” beyond the zipper edge. I just eased the top and bottom with some gathering stitches and made it work – crossed my fingers that the whole thing wasn’t too narrow but it worked out. 2nd part was K11 didn’t seem to match step 33 but I figured it out! Thanks for a fun pattern. This is going to be perfect for me to carry for work.

Kathy, I have a question about the Side-Slinger. My sister wants a bag with zippers to hold her diabetes supplies secure. But she also wants an outside pocket for a water bottle. (She keeps her phone behind a zipper.) Is there any chance the phone pocket would hold a water bottle? Thanks, Brigid

Hmmm…. I’d love to say yes, but I seriously doubt it would fit. So sorry.
