Quilt Market & Festival ’24: My Favorite Quilts

So… the competition quilts at Quilt Market & Festival were truly fantastic! It was a marvelous collection but I had a very hard time finding time to wander among all of the possibilities due to my illness & the need to be in communication with the authorities back in North Carolina due to my Dad’s passing, BUT… based on the quilts I was actually able to visit, below you will find “My Favorite Seven” & here they are in NO particular order of preference except for the LAST entry, (which is SO extraordinary that it’s totally in a league of it’s own!!)

(And if you’d like to see a closeup of any or all of these beauties, just click on that quilt!)

The Arrival” by Kestral Michaud of W. Melbourne, FL, and winner of the Master Award for Contemporary Artistry
Knotty but Nice” by Marque McKay, & quilted by Karen Lambdin of San Antonio, TX
Pathfinder” by Kyra Reps of Northwood, IA, & winner of the Master Award for Traditional Artistry
Butterflies, Bees & Alphabet Trees” by Janet Stone of Overland Park, KS, and winner of the Master Award for Machine Artistry
Solitude” by Judith Phelps of Battleground, WA, & winner of the Master Award for Thread Artistry
Isbjorn” by Ricki Selva of Gig Harbor, WA.
And finally, here’s “Still Life” by Chen Jing of Beijing, China & winner of the BEST OF SHOW! And please be advised that even though this projects LOOKS like its presented in a frame, the frame is actually part of the project. The whole entry (including the frame), might have been 15″ square, qualifying it was definitely a miniature by definition, & was truly one of the most impressive entries I’ve seen!

And now, it’s YOUR turn!

I’d love to know which of these quilts you would pick as YOUR favorite?
