A Video Announcement Concerning Interfacing

So… the purpose of today’s post it to explain why we’re moving away from recommending the use of WovenFix2 as our interfacing of choice for use in constructing bags from our patterns. As much as we’ve loved using WovenFix2, there are several reasons for this change, but chief among them is the utter impossibility at this point for us (and everyone else it seems), to procure it in sufficient quantity for resale to our customers. For whatever reason, the supply is just not dependable anymore.

Therefore…. we’ve been busy investigating a variety of similar interfacings in search of a competitive product that we can dependably make available to our customers and at this point, and we’ve settled on PLANTIONAL Cotton Woven Heavy Weight Fusible Interfacing, which is now available on our website HERE, or on Amazon.
(Please Note: this interfacing is 16″ wide, considerably less wide than we might be used to, and there is ALSO a medium weight Plantional Interfacing that is also available online, but we are only recommending only the heavy weight variety.)

I love learning about new materials from you—knowing that you research and test the products that you recommend so I, for one, would not be afraid to try a new product!

Thanks mary! I really do like the Plantional interfacing. It’s easier to fuse than the WovenFix2 was, and I honestly see very little difference in the stability it provides! 🙂

Thanks for the update. I love the WOVEN FIX, and am disappointed that it will not be available in the US. BUT! There’s always a solution. I’m sure you’ll come up with a logical, useful substitute. Good luck.

I’m with you on this Alma! And we have come up with a very good substitute! While I have loved the WovenFix2, there have been problems all along! They’ve changed the name of the product from the origiinal twice already, which is a problem for our customers, and now, its totally impossible to get in the US except for one cranky and off the wall dealer which I just cant work with! The Plantional interfacing is VERY good and seems to be plentiful. So I hope this all works out! 🙂
