PPC34- Twilight Dance

So... in our last post, i showed you the first true sample of this new design. Oh, there were still some little details I wanted to revisit, but nothing that I can point out in pictures!

All in all, I'm very happy with this sample!

Here's the Bag Front, with a full-width zippered pocket. Zippers are central and on full display in this design, so that makes it advantageous to choose a FUN zipper design, & when I'm using a busy fabric like this, my go-to zipper is generally our black & white ministripe!

And I took these shots to give you a good look at the extra interior storage that's gained when the long side zipper is opened up! I'm probably most pleased with this feature (above all others) on this design.

And here's a surprise... I made this picture with AI. I've been trying to get a fairly natural shot of this bag being worn by a human other than me, and this seemed like a good alternative! What do you think?

And here's a good look at the back side of this Bag. To be honest, there's not a whole lot of difference between the look of the back vs. the front side of this design, but I have a couple of ideas of how I plan to use fabric creatively to perhaps emphasive the difference between front & back.

and perhaps these views give the best idea of what is gained (storage-wise) when this expansion area is opened up. I've truly been surprised at how much I've enjoyed the versatility this feature affords, as I've carried the prototype.

And for this sample, I tried using a 2-layer Expander area and I am very much pleased with the strength this adds during usage!

I made a few adjustments to the Bag interior but still have a few more tweeks I'd like to make. I want to make sure that the lining area expands as much as possible when that outside double pull zipper is opened up.

And now, a word about this yummy fabric!

I fell in love with it from the moment I saw it. It's called "Twilight Dance" by Sally Kelly for Windham Fabrics. I combined it with a multi-colored polka-dot fabric on a black background for the contrast.

I plan on carrying this fabric combination for sale on the website, and you can find out more about it HERE.

And now.... it's YOUR turn!

well… it’ll be a bit yet. It’s a tough time of year to finish a pattern with the Market/Festival in Houston, and then the holidays. But You can bet I’ll get it out as soon as I can, And I can’t wait to see what YOU do with it! 🙂

I enjoy the surprise when you zip open the bottom and there’s a pop of another fabric. And the larger interior zippered pocket is appreciated.

I really, really like what I’m seeing in the finished bag “look” and the dimensions as I’m always trying to carry less but sometimes need more space. This looks to be an ideal compromise. Excited about this design!
