PPC33- Denim Fantasy

So…

I needed to make one more sample in order to do all the little step drawings since it was time to start work on the pattern instructions, but my shipment of new fabrics was late & nothing in my stash was inspiring me, so…

I did something I haven’t done in a long, LONG time!

I decided to “fabricate” my own fabric!

I used some soft, pliable denim in my stash and combined in with the Garden Fantasy fabric we used in our last sample and….

Here’s how it turned out!

Here’s the Bag Front! I pulled out an old “template maker” from MANY samples ago and alternated the Garden fantasy fabric with the soft denim for a totally unique and FUN look! I decided to set off this exterior with one of our red & white striped zippers and a red-ish bias tape from my stash!

I suppose I could’ve used the same template maker for the Bag Back, and years ago I probably would have, but I was in creative mood, and decided to just do a crazy quilt-like design instead using these same fabrics! It was fun to do and added a bit of surprise to the look of this sample! I like the way it turned out!

For the interior, I used a fairly neutral green from my stash. It’s still light enough to photograph well, yet fun enough to set off the exterior! These photos should give you a pretty good idea of the roominess of this interior. My wallet, (which is in place here on its “end”), is of pretty normal width, yet maybe a bit “thicker” than normal… or maybe that’s because I load it pretty heavy? 🙂 But these pictures can give you the idea that this little bag is much deeper than my wallet and indeed much wider as well. (Final size= 6″ wide X 9″ tall X 1.5″) Either way, there’s plenty of extra room for any “extras” you might wish to carry!

And finally, here’s some BIG News!

After much debate, (& a few tears),
we’ve FINALLY settled on a name for this new design… we’ll calling it…

the Cignet Phone Pal!

And now…. it’s YOUR turn!

I’d love to know what you think of this design so far. Does this bag seem like one you might enjoy carrying?
