One of things I love best about designing patterns is to see the amazing things out customers create using our patterns! As a matter of fact, there’s not too much I like better than opening up an email that includes a picture or two of a customer-made bag! And here’s the deal, this month’s selection of bags is particularly diverse and i think you’re really going to enjoy them!

So…let me show you!

Cindy Richmond fashioned her luxurious Side Slinger from a deconstructed leather shirt. What a GREAT idea! Then she dyed the bold grey & white zebra striped zippers she got from us online so that they’d match that chocolate brown leather! That’s an even BETTER idea!

So… after Toni Fox-Cole‘s husband saw the impressive Sling Along she created (shown in the April ’22 Eye Candy post), he decided he sure would like to have one himself for an upcoming trip and Toni whipped this one up for him! So cool!
And if based upon this bold & graphic exterior you guessed that this Everyday Attache was created by Nancy Rosa you’d be absolutely right. Her bags do have a signature (and stunningly beautiful) look don’t they?
Chila Westergaard whipped up this jungle-themed Sling Along for a friend as a birthday present. I love the exterior fabric and the perfectly matched orange zippers! This bag would be SO much fun to carry!
And Chris West said that because of the white background on her exterior, she chose to pre-laminate her exterior fabric. I would love to know if the laminated fabrics adversely affected seam bulkiness, but didn’t that luscious green interior lend just the right finishing touch to this Elsie K Baglet?
Toni Fox-Cole chose to fashion this Sling Along in her favorite color, purple (mine too Toni!) And as you can see, Toni added a few personal touches to this bag, like a coin purse and a zip pocket, and here’s the thing… she says she’s got THREE more Sling Alongs on her cutting table yet to be made!

Dale Whyte says this gorgeous Sling Along is literally loaded with all of her daily essentials and ready to celebrate Spring! I say it’s ALSO loaded with style!

And I first spied this totally eye-catching Bangle Buddie on Instagram @tumbleweedyarn who said this is one of two that she made for each of her granddaughters (we’ll show you the second Bangle Buddie next month). She said that the minute she saw this Tula Pink fabric, she knew exactly what she just HAD to make!

Sylvia (@sylviasQuiltDepot) said she’ll use the hidden zippered pocket on the back of her Side Slinger to secure her passport & other sensitive things when traveling. She also loves that its slim enough to be concealed by her jacket.

Tammy Mansfield finished this Sling Along, which was her very 1st SKD project. She used waxed canvas & ultra suede  in neutral tones and is REALLY pleased with the result! And no wonder, it’s very lush!
